SACRE [MENIN, Nicolas] Cérémonies et prières du sacre des Rois de France, accompagnées de recherches historiques. Paris, chez Firmin-Didot, 1825. In-16, full red morocco, boards stamped in their center with the Montmorency coat of arms framed with a fillet, a roulette with small dots and a fleur-de-lys roulette, smooth spine decorated with crowned fleurs-de-lis, decorated endpapers, inner roulette, gilt edges. Title, [4], table, 108 pp. and plates. Bound with the Montmorency arms. Rare ceremonial published after Ménin by Motteley on the occasion of the coronation of Charles X in Reims on May 29, 1825. In 1793, a part of the contents of the Sainte-Ampoule had been collected before the reliquary was broken, which made it possible to anoint Charles X, the last King of France, therefore, to have received the sacred anointing.
