HELMET OF COLONEL OF THE REPUBLICAN GUARD. FRANCE. Helmet model 1872/1907/1934, nickel-plated steel bomb with gilded brass trimmings, band with the arms of Paris surmounting 2 Legion of Honor (adopted in 1934) complete with its well furnished knotted mane, scale chinstrap, inner cap in basane, matriculated, size 58 1/2, colonel's large outfit egret in white heron feathers, trimmed at the base with 3 rows of small tricolor feathers, gilded metal olive, height of feathers: 28 cm. Helmet in excellent condition and has never been touched. BE (wear of the feathers) Helmet having belonged to the colonel HOULLIER, commander of the Guard at the Liberation in 1944.
