Leon CASSEL (1873-1961) View of the castle of Josselin belonging to the Duke of Rohan in Morbihan. Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. 40,5 x 51 cm. Wear, tiny chips. Home of the house of Rohan for more than a thousand years, the castle of Josselin has known the greatest hours of French history, from the Wars of Religion to the Second World War through the French Revolution. Recognizable by its towers built in the 1370's by the Constable Olivier de Clisson who made it a fortress, Josselin is an architectural jewel of the Breton heritage.
