Blake 366 - Purmann (1649-1711), war surgeon and personal physician to the Elector of Brandenburg, was one of the most important surgeons of his time. He was the city wound surgeon in Halberstadt from 1679 and fought the plague there, which he himself contracted in 1681. Since 1690 he was surgeon and city physician in Breslau (see ADB XXVI, 732). - Spotty and browned, front barely trimmed, endpapers and inner cover with inscription - ╔Dabei: Ders.╗ Fumfftzig Sonder und wunderbahre Schuß-Wunden Curen.
