Grant of 3,000 livres to S. de Chanvallon (Achille de Harlay) as a reward for his services. LOUIS XIV, Saint-Germain en Laye January 27, 1682; countersigned by Colbert: 1 page folio, address. Letter to the Chevalier de Janson; having learned that he had left the port of Marseilles "with the three galleys destined for the guard of the coasts of Provence", and that Naples was sending soldiers to the places of Tuscany, he resolved "to fortify the squadron of eight galleys commanded by the Chevalier de la Bretesche"; he ordered Janson to return to Marseilles to join the Chevalier. Attached is a drawing of a draft medal for the equestrian statue of Louis XIV in Lyon (ink and wash, diameter 19.5 cm, tear).
