Ɵ - BIBLE. Acts of the apostles. Represented by a large number of figures which have not before been seen, & are interpreted by Stanzes. Lyon, [Basile Bouquet for] Barthélemi Honorat, 1582. In-8, green morocco, decorated in the style of Du Seuil, spine decorated, interior lace, gilt edges (Capé).
Third and last part of the Figures de la Bible déclarées par stances, decorated with a superb title frame and 153 woodcut mid-page figures, all accompanied by stanzas composed by the Touraine poet Gabriel Chappuys.
A well-bound copy by Capé, in which has been added a folding map of the Holy Land, engraved on copper and contemporary to the edition.
Minor rubbing to the corners and headpieces.
