Ciborium (chalice for consecrated hosts) | ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, Jos Jonkergouw 1894-1924) silver.

Very large gold-plated model ciborium with lid with upright cross. The cup features a detailed engraved representation of the Last Supper and engraved scroll banners: Sanctus, Sanctus Sanctus, Dominus Deus, Sabaoth, Exaltabor in Terra (meaning: blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest heavens, I will be exalted on the earth). Neo-Gothic openwork decorations are attached to the bottom of the cup. The cup flows into the trunk, which is also provided with neo-Gothic decorations, with an openwork convex piece with floral tendrils in the middle. The base features 6 cast-in figures with the names: Dor Jesu (Jesus), Mater Admirabilis (fresco of the Virgin Mary), Sancta Agnes (Saint Agnes), S. Carolus Borromeus (Cardinal Nepaw, Archbishop of Milan), S. Henrirus and S. Godefridus. The Netherlands, 's-Hertogenbosch, J. Jonkergouw, circa 1910, hallmarks: lion, Minerva, maker's mark, sword, unknown hallmark. Inscription: see photos - light signs of use and minimal dents (wear to the gilding). 1570 grams, 835/1000.
