Receipt. [In-4° : [6-4 bl.]-116 [= 118] pp. on paper, in French (small tears at upper corners, a few stains). Ep. vellum with flap, flat spine (qqs. stains and pet. holes). Set of 71 various recipes "pour faire mourrir les poux", "guerir lhidropisie", "pour la pierre et gravelle", "contre la peste", "pour la petite verolle", etc., some given by "Madame Chamlemy a Madame de Rozay", "expérimentée le 8e mars 1646 par mad[emoise]lle de la Potiniere", "Mr Cordonnier demeurant rue de la harpe", etc. Several surnames mentioned would suggest that this manuscript was copied in the northwest of France. Contains a table at the head. Precious testimony on the manuscript circulation of popular medical knowledge in the 18th century.
