Bibliography : Juffermans JL 16 During his Fauve adventure at the 1905 Salon d'Automne alongside Maurice de Vlaminck and Henri Matisse, Kees Van Dongen caused a scandal with subjects and colors considered outrageous. In 1918, Paul Guillaume organized an exhibition of twenty-five paintings by the artist, and this was his consecration. After the war, he was a great success and became an emblematic figure of the Paris of the Roaring Twenties. If women are his favorite subject, all want to be sketched by the worldly painter: women of the world, women of letters, dancers and actresses pass under his brush. It is with great spontaneity and sensuality that Kees Van Dongen makes the portrait of our model with seductive features.
