Full contemporary basane, spine with five raised bands, ornamented boards, red title page. Restorations on the corners and on one bit, skilfully done. Rare first edition, recognizable among others by the presence of the errata reported by the BNF. The text is a reply by Voltaire to the book by Abbé Guenée: "Lettres de quelques juifs portugais, allemands et polonais à M. de Voltaire". Following are reproduced other responses, including the one to the book: "Les Erreurs de M. de Voltaire", by Abbé Nonnotte. The conclusion: "To Messieurs les six juifs", is signed: "La Roupilière, à Perpignan, 15 septembre 1776".
