XIV-394-(6) pages. Full contemporary red long-grained morocco, double gilt framing of the boards, smooth mosaic spine, decorated with ancient Greek motifs, roulette on the edges, light blue silk endpapers, large inner floral roulette, all edges gilt. Binding signed DEVERS (bookbinder installed in Lyon at the end of the revolution, of which very few works are known). Minor flaws at the bottom of the inner hinges, otherwise very good condition of this elegant binding. On the back cover, a piece of morocco saying : To your wisdom I dedicate it. A handwritten quatrain at the top of a flyleaf, and a half-faded monogram. For Bibliophile
