Jewellery box. China, 19th century. Lacquered wood. Some lacquer flaws. The key is missing. Measurements: 12.5 x 19.5 x 14 cm. Chinese jewellery box with a Western-inspired structure, decorated however with typical Chinese motifs. The legs have been carved in the shape of a claw in the European manner. On the surface of the box we can see all kinds of courtly scenes, vegetables and borders lacquered in golden tones on a black background.
