XOLOTL POLO (Mexico, 1964). "Mentori", 2020. Acrylic on canvas. Unframed. Signed in the lower central area. Size: 40 x 30 cm. Xolotl Polo has a degree in graphic design from the Universidad Iberoamericana A.C., and completed his training at the Instituto Regional de Bellas Artes de Morelos. In 1988 he won his first painting prize, awarded by the Society of Watercolourists of Morelos, and since then he has participated in various painting competitions both in Mexico and abroad, winning several first prizes, honourable mentions and selections. His first individual exhibition took place in 1988, at the Instituto Regional de Bellas Artes, and since then he has held more than twenty personal exhibitions in Mexico, Spain, the United States and Uruguay. He has also taken part in group exhibitions in Latin America, New York, Canada, Australia and Spain. He is currently represented in numerous private and public collections such as the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo and the Pinacoteca Centro de las Artes in Mexico, the Museo Javier de la Rosa in the Canary Islands, the Histórico Naval de Veracruz, the Pinacoteca Universitaria de Arte Contemporáneo de Chilpancingo, the Mexican Embassies in Washington D.C. and Paris, the Mexican Consulate in Allen (Texas), etc.
