FRANCE, Monarchie de Juillet (1830-1848)

Staff officer sword, model 1817. Spindle made of brown horn with gadroons. Gilded brass mounting. Guard with one branch chased with oak leaves. Pommel decorated with flowers and sparkling winged lightning bolts. Keyboard with a rooster framed by laurel branches on a cluster of six flags. Counter-keyboard on ball joint (missing). Quillon ended by a lion's head. Straight blade with two edges and two hollow sides and median edge, traces of handwritten inscriptions engraved near the heel. Blade length : 77.6 cm - Total length : 93 cm. Without scabbard. Wear to the gilding and a few spots of oxidation to the frame; oxidation to the blade.
