Chassepot model 1866 bayonet, 574 mm stamped yatagan blade, stamped and die-cut crucible, with bolted and forward-arched quillon, fifteen-strand brass grip, SF, wear, oxidation, LT 695 mm, France Second Empire/XIXth century period.

France, 2nd Empire (1854-1870). Rare German-made "J.Funcke & Cie à Herdecke Marz 1968" model 1866 chassepot saber-bayonet, series "U" with scabbard. Fluted cast brass handle, cruise stamped "U 9356". Blade with small gray patina, stained in places with dried grease, and manufacturer's marking on the back (partly legible) "J. Funcke & Cie Herdecke Marz 1868". Model steel scabbard oxidized, not with the same n° "U 6001". (In its original state, not cleaned, fairly good condition).

France, 2nd Empire (1852-1870). Chassepot model 1866 saber-bayonet, by the Manufacture Impériale de Tulle, for non-combatant troops not armed with rifles (Série Z), with the same number. Molten brass frame, the cruise with minor surface oxidation, stamped "Z 63799". White yatagan blade with "Manufacture Impériale de Tulle Octobre 1870" marking on the back. Steel scabbard in its original black oxidized tan, with the same "Z 63799" number. (In original condition, never collected before, needs cleaning, fairly good condition).
