TABRIZ carpet (Iran), mid 20th century Dimensions : 320 x 230cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. The whole field of this carpet is covered with a sowing of latticed flowers. In the center appears a polylobed ivory medallion, with an emerald heart, and its pendants. It sits on a brick background, oblong compartmentalized, cruciform with fine ivory highlighting. Four small ivory spandrels complete the set. A multitude of counter borders with flowers enclose the main border ruby to succession of multicolored corollas on leafy stems in polychrome.
