Very important KIRMAN carpet (Persia), early 20th century Dimensions : 670 x 415cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. An undulating and oblong ivory field, covered with a multitude of polychrome flowered stems, hosts a sky blue polylobed medallion, with accolades, central rosette old gold and ruby and with magnificent pendants fleurdelisés; the whole being vegetalized. Four important ruby spandrels with arabesques, decorated with multicolored scrolls and sky blue openwork compositions frame the whole. Four pastel borders with garlands of flowers surround the main border blue night, enriched with sublime plant branches in polychrome convolutions. Great distinction.
