Jean Baptiste MONTYON [1733-1820] - Philanthropist and Economist. He is at the origin of the MONTYON PRIZES (virtue / literary / scientific) awarded by the Institute - Letter A.S. March 13, 1815, addressed to Mr. MURSAY, rue de la Planche N°10 - 1 page small in-4° (letter carried) : "Accept my thanks, Sir, of your obliging proposal to discount the draft on you of term due of four thousand six hundred francs. I have the honor to send you with my acquisition and I will go to make you my thanks. I also enclose here a copy of a letter that I received from the Minister of Finance and I will have the honor of talking to you about it and I will take your advice to know if there is any way to come against this decision. I have the honor to be, Sir, your most humble and obedient servant."
