Rare rose, yellow and white gold "Rosette" BROCHURE in blue, red and green turquoise enamel decorated with scrolls and stylized lilies enamelled white, the structure surmounted and surrounded by rose-cut diamonds. The center set with a pearl probably fine 6.3 mm enamel diamond pearl. French work, circa 1870/80, bearing on the pin the hallmark of master goldsmith Frédéric BOUCHERON FB (1866-1928). D. 4.5 cm. Gross weight: 28.2 g. Very good condition (a very slight lack of enamel in the back part, chips to the diamonds. We can compare this brooch with the transformation bracelet held by the V&A Museum under the number 747-1890 which was acquired from Frederic Boucheron by the donors. https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O120613/bracelet-riffault-charles/ We can compare this work to that of Charles Riffault, a famous enameller who worked for Boucheron in the 1870s and 1880s. His style was characterized by the use of radiant patterns of red, green and blue colors. He obtained the patent for translucent enamel or plique-à-jour at the time and passed it on to Boucheron. The jewels with transformation in plique-à-jour enamel had been presented at the international exhibitions of 1867 and 1878.
