Fabrice HYBER (né en 1961)

Digestion rose 1993 Mixed media on canvas signed, dated and dedicated on the back 100 x 81 cm Exhibitions : > Plus Lourd à l'intérieur, Musée de Strasbourg, 1995 > Plus Lourd à l'intérieur, Musée d'art moderne de Saint-Etienne, 1995 Fabrice Hybert is one of the most inventive French artists of his generation. He became known to the general public in 1990 by making the biggest soap in the world! A few years later, he transformed the Museum of Modern Art of the city of Paris into a "Hybermarket" before winning the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 1997. His protean work is marked by the constant shifts he makes between painting, drawing, sculpture and installations. Organic metaphors are omnipresent in the work of one who is fascinated by the processes of proliferation, hybridization and mutation. Fabrice Hyber is frequently honored by the gallery Nathalie Obadia, we remember the dialogue between his work and that of Jean Dubuffet: hyberDUBUFFET, in 2017.
