After having spoken of the National Guard of Dax, and of its generous conduct which deserves "the gratitude of all those who sincerely love Religion, good order, and the happiness of men", he eloquently exalts "the sentiments of true brotherhood". In a postscript, he declares: "Here we are in a very great crisis, the King took off last night with his family. We are after. It is up to the guards and the good citizens to deploy today all their energy to maintain order and to watch our enemies. Courage, gentlemen, and prudence.
