FENELON (François de Salignac de la Mothe). The Adventures of Telemachus, son of Ulysses. With twenty-five figures drawn by Marillier, and engraved under his direction by the best artists. Paris, Déterville [Imprimerie de Crapelet], year IV (1796). 2 vol. in-8, [2] ff, lxxix-320 pp; [2] ff, 441 pp, with 25 engraved plates, under serpents, including a portrait-frontispice by Hubert after Vivien, all printed on blue paper, granite basane, ornate smooth spines, red and green title-papers, framed with dent-de-rat, gilt fillet and garland on the boards, gilt fillet on the edges, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Gilding of the spines faded. One of the very few copies on colored paper, including the engravings. This edition is available in two formats: in-8 on large paper (this copy); in-12 on ordinary paper. (Quérard III, 93. Brunet II, 1216. Cohen 387-88. None of these bibliographies mentions the existence of prints on colored paper).
