[Book of celebrations]. Description of the celebrations given to Their Majesties the Emperors Napoleon and Alexander, and to several other crowned heads on October 6 and 7, 1808 in Weimar and Jena by H.S.H. Charles-Augustus Duke of Saxe-Weimar. Accompanied by an outline of their memorable interview in Erfort [sic] / Beschreibung der Feierlichkeiten welche bei Anwesenheit von Ihro Majestäten der Kaiser Alexander und Napoleon und mehrerer gekrönten Häupter in Weimar und Jena am 6ten und 7ten October 1808 von Sr. Durchlaucht dem Herzoge Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar veranstaltet wurden. Nebst einem Überblicke Ihrer merkwürdigen Zusammenkunft in Erfurt. Weimar, Bureau of Industry, 1809. In-folio, [4]-24 pp, bilingual text on two columns (German and French), with 5 plates out of the text (two in black, one on a tinted background, two in color), brown half-basin with corners, smooth mute spine (period binding). Some small wear. Very rare album published on the occasion of the meeting and talks between Napoleon and Alexander I in Erfurt, from September 22 to October 14, 1808, which turned into a kind of European celebration, with an audience of sovereigns more or less devoted to the French Emperor. The plates represent: 1. the portraits in black of the sovereigns present (engraved by C.A. Schwerdgeburth). - 2. the order of the imperial table at the reception of October 6, 1808 in Weimar (in black). - 3. view of the obelisk erected on October 6 in front of the castle of Weimar (on a colored background, engraved by Ermer after Steiner). - 4. the visit of the battlefield of Jena by the two sovereigns (in colors, by Geissler). - 5.
