The Neapolitan humanist Gabriele Altilio (1436-1501) was a diplomat for the Aragonese kings Ferdinand I and Alfonso II of Naples. He was also bishop of Policastro, but is remembered for his epithalams and other neo-Latin compositions. This edition is based on the Italian translation given in 1730 by Giambatusta Carminati, and published at the address of Padua.
