To which the author has added new research on the Roman laws of succession, on the French laws, and on feudal laws. Geneva [Paris], Barillot, & Fils, sd (1749). 2 vols. in-4, [4] ff, XXIV-522 pp. with an unstamped errata leaf ; [2] ff, XVI-564 pp. in marbled fawn calf, spine with ornamented nerves, red title and giblets, red tr. (contemporary binding). Fine restorations to the headpieces and corners, otherwise a good copy. Second edition, in fact a Parisian counterfeit of the original edition, with a single r in the name of Barrillot at the address, and the same ciphering errors in the Preface as for the original. It appeared at the end of January 1749 and is more commonly found in France than the princeps edition of October 1748, which was mostly sold in London and England.
