Very nice oval miniature representing the Duke of Penthièvre wearing the insignia of the Golden Fleece and the order of the Holy Esprit. Oval frame in gilded brass decorated with strings of pearls and a folding clasp on the back. Bears a signature SICARDI on the left. 18th century 5.4 x 4.6 cm Related work : An identical miniature but in civil dress by Halle, in the collections of the Château de Chantilly.
