Very beautiful sword of Pair de France. Triangular blade with three hollow sides of 795mm long, decorated with the line on gilded bottom and blued with the third. Very nice gilt bronze mount. The guard plate presents in relief a crowned shield surrounded by horns of plenty bearing the arms of France. Pommel in crook with leonine mask. Mother-of-pearl rifling plates, the obverse with a medallion inlaid in the mother-of-pearl profile of Athena helmeted. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings.
