Pierre Jean-Baptiste Legrand d'Aussy, born in Amiens on June 3, 1737 and died in Paris on December 6, 1800, was a French historian. One of his brothers having been appointed abbot of Saint-André de Clermont, Legrand went to visit him, and travelled through the Auvergne as a naturalist, in 1787 and 1788. This work is probably the first edition of the Voyage fait en 1787 et 1788, dans la ci-devant haute et basse Auvergne, aujourd'hui départemens du Puy-de-Dôme, du Cantal et partie de celui de la Haute-Loire paru en 1791 en 3 volumes.
