Important and magnificent TABRIZ carpet (Persia), end of the 19th century Dimensions : 510 x 375cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. A marine field with "a thousand flowers" and weeping willows, supports a counter field cherry, oblong and poly-lobed, with a sowing of flowers, compartmentalized by ivory ribbons, with angular forms or arabesques, where deer frolic. In the center sits a marine medallion, multi-lobed, with plant decoration and heart with cruciform ivory rosette, sky and brick. Two old gold borders with garlands of flowers frame the main one, marine, with a succession of multicolored corollas on ivory scrolls. Very beautiful palette of colors.
