KACHAN carpet (Iran), mid 20th century Dimensions : 367 x 244cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. An oblong ruby field, with braces, covered with multicolored floral scrolls, supports a polylobed floral rosette, ivory, navy and sky and its pendants. The spandrels are formed by a stack of four-colored plant bands with arabesques. Six delicate counter borders, ivory and sky with flowers frame the main navy covered with "thousand" flowers and plant stems with lotus blooming.
