TABRIZ carpet (Iran), mid 20th century Dimensions : 293 x 198cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on cotton foundation. An ivory medallion, polylobed, in mandorla and its pendants hosts a vegetalized marine heart. The whole rests on an oblong ruby field, with braces. Four large spandrels, navy and ivory embellish the whole. The field is entirely covered with a sowing of stylized polychrome flowers, forming a cruciform paving. Two apple green counter-borders, with leafy stems, frame the main navy border with a series of corollas and multicolored flowers.
