Officer's saber, gilded brass single-branch guard modeled after those of junior infantry officers of the Imperial Guard and sailors of the Guard, fusee entirely silver watermarked; blade modeled, signed at heel: "S & J" on gold background, engraved on half of two cartouches, the ground centers forming a branch of foliage, on each side of the cartouches, near the heel: two flags and at the end: foliage; the ground part could be engraved, originally: "MARINE"; leather scabbard with two gilded brass fittings, stinger in the form of a fluted button; length 93 cm.
