LOUIS XVIII & CHARLES X: Louis XVIII (1755-1824) King of France 1814-1824, with a brief interruption during the Hundred Days in 1815, & Charles X (1757-1836) Count of Artois. King of France 1824-30. Both brothers of King Louis XVI. A good L.S., `Louis Stanislas Xavier´ and `Charles Philippe´, one page, oblong 8vo, n.p., n.d., [1792], in French. The document, being an order for a mission, states `Nous avons jugé qu´il était utile au Service du Roi que M. Edouard garde du Corps acceptat passagerement la place de Lieutenant de Marechaussée a Salon en Provence´ (''We have considered that it is useful to the service of the King that M. Edouard, Corps Guard, accepts temporarily the post of Lieutenant de Marechaussée at Salon in Provence.´ An interesting document signed by two Kings of France. Very small stain not affecting the text or signatures. G Joseph-Marie Edouard de La Morlière (1762-1830?) also known as Audouard, a King Louis XVI Corps Guard of the Scottish regiment since 1782.
