KRAUS (Johann Ulrich). Heilige Augen-und Bemüths-Lust vorstellend alle Sonn- und Feyrtägliche nicht nur Evangelien sondern auch Epistelen und Lectionen. Augsburg: Johann Ulrich Kraus, [1706]. - 2 parts in one volume in-folio, white half parchment with Bradel corners, smooth spine, speckled edges (19th century binding). Splendid work engraved and published by the German publisher and engraver Johann Ulrich Krauss (1655-1719). Divided into two parts, it consists of two frontispieces, two titles with engraved vignettes, a headband, a lettering and 120 superb plates, 70 in the first part and 50 in the second. These plates are themselves divided into two parts, namely a historiated vignette surmounted by a title and accompanied by a text referring to the illustration, and an emblematic engraving in medallion in a rich baroque frame, surmounted by the extract of the epistle it represents. A copy in a 19th century binding, with some wear and tear. The titles and the text leaves have been cut and glued or rebound. Light staining.
