Created in collaboration with Max Hoffman, the Mercedes-Benz importer in the United States, the model is presented in 1954 in New-York. The design was thought by Karl Wilfert and Walter Hackert. Together with the 300SL, these were the first two cars in the SL range, for "Sport Leicht". When the 190SL was discontinued in 1963, 25881 units were produced. Robust car, with worked lines, it pleases the amateurs interested by an elegant, powerful and solid car. Very well built, it allows a daily use. Our car is a second hand, it was sold new in Beaune. The hood is new, the left rear fender has been replaced, the floors are new as well as a complete new paint job. A ceramic wax applied will extend the life of the paint.
