REPUBLIC THUNDERSTREAK F84F 1952 The lot is exhibited at the Chateau de Savigny les Beaune Year: 1952 Fighter plane In competition with the American military aircraft manufacturer, North American Aviation, the F-84F Thunderstreak was created to compete with the performance of the latest model of the rival company, the F-86 Sabre. The F-84F Thunderstreak was composed of a Wright J65 turbojet engine with 3.3 tons of thrust, it can reach a maximum speed of 1119 km/h, it can reach a ceiling of 14,000 meters. As for its armament, the plane is composed of 6 machine guns Browning M3 of 12,7 mm (calibre .50). It can contain up to 2727 kg of bombs or rockets, including the nuclear bomb. In service since May 12, 1954, it made its first flight on June 3, 1950 under the command of pilot Otto. P. Hass. The model was produced in 3428 units.
