This watch presents atypical characteristics in the Rolex production of the 1940s: first of all this dial type regulator, no other model of Rolex will propose this type of dial thereafter. And then also the two parts clipped case back: at the time when Rolex develops its patent of waterproof case "Oyster" on the whole of its range, it is very rare to have steel models with this type of clipped case back.
