HUGO Victor (1802-1885).

P.S. "Vte Hugo", Paris August 16, 1838; 1 page large in-fol. partly printed on the letterhead Pass-port to the Interior, fiscal stamp, red ink stamp of the Prefecture of Police. Passport issued by the Préfecture de Police (signed by the secretary general Malleval) giving to "Mr. le Vicomte Hugo Victor Marie with Mad. his wife and daughter", the permission to circulate freely in all departments of the kingdom. Hugo is described as "owner" and, in the description, his age (36 years), his height (1 m. 73), the color of his hair, eyebrows, beard ("chatain"), his "brown" eyes and "colored" complexion, his "high" forehead, his "medium" nose, and his "oval" face are noted. [In August 1838, while his family was living in Auteuil for the summer, Victor Hugo left for a short trip with Juliette Drouet to Champagne from August 18 to 28].
