ORIGINAL EDITION printed at 2 775 numbered copies. 1 of the 5 first copies on Japon (n°1). Enriched with: - a handwritten letter, on the letterhead of the Figaro, in ink signed by Maurice Noël, founder of the Figaro littéraire (surely to José Corti) evoking "the proofs of Fourest" and the wish to publish some passages; -also another handwritten letter signed in ink by the editor of the "Nouvelles littéraires" to José Corti, thanking him for the proofs of the new collection of Georges Fourest and wishing to make a review as soon as it is published; - Also enclosed are two handwritten letters, in-4°, signed by Fourest to José Corti (the 1st one of 2 pages, the 2nd one of 4 pages) recapitulating all the corrections that should be made after his proofreading. Finally, enriched with a nice sending from the author to José Corti at the false title: "To Mr. José Corti, the kindest of publishers, shaking his hand cordially, Georges Fourest". Covers slightly browned in the margins otherwise VERY GOOD.
