Small diptych in ivory finely carved and openwork representing, on the left side, the archangel St. Michael slaying the dragon and, on the right side, the Descent from the Cross. Spain, second half of the 16th century Height : 5 cm - Width : 3,2 cm In a later wooden frame Total height: 6 cm - Width open: 8,4 cm - Gross weight: 26 g Scenes with picturesque details such as the dragon represented by a mermaid and the body of Christ suspended by the shroud of which Joseph of Arimathea holds one of the ends.
