AFTER A DRAWING BY JEAN-LOUIS PRIEUR Master sculptor, member of the Academy of Saint-Luc in 1765 SUITE OF SIX SCONCES WITH FOUR ARMS OF LIGHT Model with putto in term One pair was made at the end of the 18th century and the other four in the middle of the 19th century. Chased gilt bronze. H. 91,5 cm L. 63,5 cm P. 32 cm Drilled for electrification. A bust of a putto rests on a sheath with a frieze of piastres. He wears on his hips a pleated veil, tied on the left and four arms of light in leafy console. In the upper part, a capital surmounted by an antique vase with fluting and garland of laurels. Prieur for this model. - A pair of these sconces can be found in the small castle of the Faisanderie in the park of Moritzburg Castle, Germany. - A pair of the same model (but with three arms of light) was sold at Osenat in Fontainebleau Fontainebleau, lot n° 53, on May 30, 2021. ( H. 55,5 cm W. 34,5 cm D. 21 cm) - A pair of the same model (three arms of light - H : 55,5 cm )was sold on December 12, 2018 December 12, 2018 at Collin du Bocage, lot n°288. - A suite of four sconces by J.L.
