(Newly rebound, rubbed, endpapers renewed). Very rare first edition of this famous text in which Agrippa postulates the natural superiority of women. Delivered in Dole in 1509 as a lecture with which the scholar also offered his services to Margaret of Burgundy, the writing could not be printed until 20 years later, since Agrippa had to flee to London that same year because of his advocacy of Reuchlin. - Some light waterstaining, occasional marginalia and underlining, end slightly worm-eaten (some loss of letters).
