[RUGS] Rare Ladik prayer rug (Central Anatolia, Turkey) late eighteenth century. Wool velvet on wool foundation. Restorations, natural oxidations, and rewoven heads. Ruby field with crenellated mihrab, decorated with double teapots with floral buttons in symmetry. Double turquoise spandrels with lacy oak leaves in the form of caterpillars and small stylized teapots. Original old gold band with triple prayer niches decorated with five rows of tulips (typical of Ladik). Seven borders, the main one saffron with interlacing flowers and stylized foliage.
