China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or earlier. The face well carved with a gentle contemplative expression, with the mouth set in a slight smile and the eyes cast downwards below arched eyebrows, the face flanked by two elongated ears.
Provenance: German private collection, acquired at a German auction.
Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age, as expected with extensive wear, losses, remnants of pigments, and natural age cracks.
