ARMAND-DUMARESQ (Charles-Edouard) Uniforms of the French army in 1861, drawn under the direction of Major General Hecquet according to the orders of M. le Maréchal Minister of War. Paris, Lemercier lithographic printing house, 1861. In plano, printed publisher's cardboard. Complete suite consisting of a title, a table and 56 lithographed plates in bistre. General Maneque's stamp on the title page. (Cover faded, interiors with freckles and stains but quite nice colors, plate 25 torn in the margin and a few mm on the image) Provenance: General Claude MANEQUE (1812-1870), by descent.

Uniforms - BRUN (Charles). Collection of 82 color uniform plates with handwritten notes by military draftsman Charles Brun (1825-1908), assembled and bound by Édouard DETAILLE (from the latter's collection): 73 ORIGINAL DRAWINGS in ink and watercolor and 9 engraved plates of regiments, finely watercolored (dim. approx. 24 x 15 cm). The plates are hand-captioned, and for the most part bear precious handwritten information on the verso about the origin (collection) of the engravings, drawings and uniforms that inspired these drawings by Ch. Brun, with details on colors or parts of uniforms, or on variants and particularities of the subjects. In-4 (26.5 x 19 cm) havana half calf, spine ribbed with gilt, gilt title (period binding). With a L.A.S. from Édouard Detaille, 1 p. in-12 (February 20, no year, no place, he will attend the dinner given for Jules Clarétie).
