In-4 oblong, black half-maroquin à la Bradel, transparent plexiglass boards with black frames, illustrated cover preserved, case (D.H. Mercher). First edition of Seules les crécelles pissent tranquillement sur les dix commandements. The illustration includes five full-page compositions by Toyen and the reproduction of two collages by Jindrich Štyrský on the cover. The original collage on the upper cover was included in the Kahn Collection sale of June 18, 2021 (A Thousand Nights of Dreams III, no. 267). Clandestine edition printed in Prague in 1940 at 55 copies - fifteen in Czech and forty in German. Copy no. 7. As in all copies, the justification has been cut out to escape the censorship of the Nazi occupiers. It has been reproduced here in green ballpoint pen, probably by Jindrich Heisler himself, in French. A very nice copy in an impeccable binding by Mercher.
