One of the 31 first copies on Hollande Pannekock laid paper (n° 12) for the work of Eluard. One of the 20 first copies on normandy vellum teinté (n° 6) for Herbe à la lune. Collection bound for Paul Eluard by Louis Christy, one of the favorite bookbinders of the surrealists. L'Herbe à la lune bears a dozen autograph corrections as well as an autograph letter signed "to Paul Eluard / with the deepest / sympathy and admiration / Valentine Penrose / August 1935". Bound at the head, a beautiful autograph letter signed by Valentine Penrose addressed to Paul Eluard on July 22, 1935. She regrets not being able to see him and thanks him for his preface.
