Orpheus. Tragedy in one act and an interval. Paris, Librairie Stock, 1927. In-12, eggplant half-chagrin with bands, smooth spine, untrimmed, gilt head, covers and spine kept (Semet & Plumelle). First edition. One of the 28 first copies on imperial paper of Japan (n° 6). From the library of René Gaffé (1887-1968), with bookplate (not included in the 1956 sale). Eminent Belgian bibliophile, he was the patron of the surrealists by acquiring their editions on large paper. For tribal art and paintings, André Breton and Paul Eluard were among his advisors.
