Long attributed to Nerval, the satirical booklet is essentially the work of Félix Bodin.
Nerval, barely 18 years old, would have composed the last two stanzas of the Complainte.
In the same year, he adopted the pseudonym of Beuglant, a friend of Cadet Roussel, for his first publications.
