The literary exhumation aims at highlighting the victims of the "regents of Parnassus" - among whom Boileau. The portrait of Cyrano de Bergerac will inspire Edmond Rostand his famous "comédie héroïque" (1897).
Beautiful copy, in pastiche binding.
It bears the bookplate Alfred de Musset (?). Small restorations to the binding, corners slightly crushed.
